So I used to have a 1ms benQ but now I sold it. Idk why and now I'm looking at one but it's 5ms.
How big of difference is that and would I be able to tell?
Thanks

If you are playing an FPS game, you may see a slight difference if you have been used to 1ms for a long time.

If you are used to playing on a 1ms monitor then you will most likely be able to tell the difference as I've heard a few people say it's hard to go back to a standard monitor especially if it's fps games.

You won't tell the difference. Response time means next to nothing and is basically just a marketing plot for companies like BenQ to shift more of their shitty monitors to consumers who don't know what to look for in a good monitor.
If you play a lot of competitive gaming like e sports, then a 120/144Hz monitor would be your best choice. Otherwise, a nice 1440p or 4k IPS display.

^^^ This
It takes around 16.7ms for a new frame to be shown on a standard 60Hz monitor anyway.
