I use Kaspersky Total Security, its great. It does what it says protects you in every possible way, and opens a safe browser during transactions. Really easy to use and navigate around.

G2A sell it very cheap. worth looking at.

If i'm honest, you get what you pay for with anti-virus software, it's well worth spending the £40 or so pounds on a decent anti-virus to keep your computer safe.

Common sense is the best anti-virus.
Download uBlock Origin for your browser and that will remove ads along with a lot of other rubbish that could cause viruses.
I would recommend Avast. I does the job for me and I'm happy with it.
