ok There's an important vote happening in the UK tomorrow whether we leave the European Union or remain part of it and I'm seeing people that are sharing post's like this.

Great you're trying to influence people based on a **** copy pasta printed on a piece of paper. If you're wondering it's not even true

Also another note
EU leaders promised the Turkish government that 79 million Turks could have access to Europes 26-country border-free Schengen travel zone by June, as part of a hotly disputed bargain on migration.

Oh look we're not even a part of the Schengen travel zone

I understand people have different opinions but if you are voting in something that has an impact this big please look into the "facts" that are being presented and get a better understanding.

So because people are having to look elsewhere for their facts ,You class them as idiots... ,How grown up of you.

While I agree that there is a lot of false information out there (including from the supposed trusted/government controlled media) you have to accept the fact that there has been a blanket ban on all news relating to anything involving the migrants within the EU. It does not take a brain surgeon to work out why.

People in the UK have a right to know the truth ,How can we vote on something when the powers that be refuse to give us all the information on the table ??.

Personally I do not blame people for looking else where for information on the issues that will affect all of us in the end and truth be told only a fool would ignore the news of other EU nations ,They give you the perspective of events within the EU. Something our powers that be do not want to share with us.

The UK voting is today not sure if it yesterday or couple of days before who cares I don't? I'm only voting so it helps me with my house points when I grow up a bit and move out. I stay out of politics as much as I can because sometimes it turns into drama.

Lol, on the internet, that means forums like these or everything, including newspapers and stuff? If so, what do you believe?

While I agree for the most part, there are independent news sites for people to get their information from. They aren't going to be completely unbiased, but it's better than what Schoey is talking about in this topic. You must be able to see the difference between a dubious news site which is likely to be spreading propaganda, and a picture on Facebook which has no source or any way of substantiating the information it contains.

The dubious site is debatable in terms of its accuracy, the picture simply cannot be unless people go looking for the source themselves.

@OP: There are very few sources which people will actually trust any more.
If you are having a debate with someone and you give a source for a set of statistics - in my experience - it's almost a certainty that they are going to say that the source is unreliable.

It doesn't matter if it's the FBI's crime statistics page, or the WHO's statements about GMO's, people will always find a way to twist it into some kind of cover up or conspiracy.
In essence, on the internet today, there are no good sources for information.

The only types of arguments that people respond positively to are either emotional or logical.
Statistics and statements by experts in a certain field - or by entire corporations - are worth nothing in online debates any more.

If NASA says that there has been no physical evidence of alien life found on Earth, it's a cover up.
If Bill Nye says that climate change is a fact of life, it's a conspiracy to fear monger and increase funding.
If the White House itself said that black people were disproportionately imprisoned in the United States it would be a lie to perpetuate the myth that racism still exists in the US.

All of these things and people should be the most trustworthy sources of information available to us, but somehow the use of sources has become so susceptible to being twisted that they aren't any more.

I can't stand the people from the general public who are interviewed on the streets and asked their opinion on something they have no clue about/how it works.

People should be told how the world works in school, I know some schools do teach this but the school I went to only really went over the different party's. I guess some people would say it's up to you to educate yourself but not when peoples mindless votes are being counted.

I've known a few people that voted to leave the EU simply because they wanted to see change as they felt they hadn't benefited from what is in order just now, this was actually mentioned in the news. It was also mentioned in the news that a good majority of the people that voted for the UK to remain part of the EU were people that were at UNI and people who were in high end jobs who were fine with the way things were going and didn't see the need for any change.

but does it really matter? nothing said is ever done.

When it comes to political information, it's all shit and from a shit source unless you agree with it.
