Hi, so for the last few months i have spent many hours researching the best components for a gaming computer. I am new to the whole gaming spectrum so i would like some advice on my parts for my computer. this is what i have currently : [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . i haven't chosen a motherboard that i like yet. please criticize and help me choose good parts. my max price is around $1250. I also have a few questions, is the i7-5820k overkill for a good gaming computer? and should i wait for the new RX480? I am trying to make a very good gaming computer where i can play on max settings and still have good frame rate.
Thanks

That's very bad. Paying $110 for your OS is not smart, at all, and makes no sense. You can buy a key from Kinguin, G2A, or /r/microsoftsoftwareswap subreddit for $20-$30, or you can get your OS for free. That PSU is absolutely terrible quality. RAM is way over-priced. R9 390 makes zero sense since the 480 will beat it for $199, and the GTX 1070 stomps all over the 390 for $100 more.

What will you actually be using the system for? You may be better off with a 6600k, or 6700k instead of the 5820k. Depending on what it's being used for though, the 5820k could be a fine choice. However, the rig you're looking at will be well over your $1250 budget once you include the cost of the CPU cooler and motherboard, as in around the $1450 mark total. What peripherals are you using? I sure hope you're not using a 1080p monitor and cheap shit peripherals with this kind of budget? I'm also assuming your preferred colour scheme is red?

That makes no sense, at all. It "has bad quality" what? Why is it "garbage" lmao? I'm not sure why that's the only thing you took in from what I said though, as I did say the 5820k could be a fine choice, if you're going to utilise it, which it doesn't seem you will. Again, as I already said though, you'll be $200 over budget with the 5820k after you include motherboard and cooler price.

I'll re-iterate my questions, since you never answered anything;
"What will you actually be using the system for?"
"What peripherals are you using?"

"I sure hope you're not using a 1080p monitor and cheap shit peripherals with this kind of budget?"
"I'm also assuming your preferred colour scheme is red?"

Just gaming? Nothing else? What kind of games? Depending on the games you'll be playing, different CPUs/GPUs would make sense so it'd be helpful if we knew exactly what the system is being used for.

at this moment i have not chosen anything and i am focusing on the computer itself

So you don't have any peripherals? I 100% recommend sorting peripherals out before the system. Also, with this kind of budget, you should be getting a nice mechanical keyboard, like a Strafe/K70 or something similar and a 1440p, or even 4k monitor.

Also, forgot to ask, are you interested at all in overclocking CPU and/or GPU?

Ok, i am going to be playing games like battlefield, csgo, overwatch, etc. Im looking for a cpu/gpu that will allow me to play large games at their highest settings.

For the keyboard i am getting the razer chroma. for the monitor i will be getting a 1440p.

Alright, well X99 with a 5820k/6800k will cost more than $200 over LGA1151, and won't benefit you so it doesn't make much sense. Also, don't get a Razer Chroma keyboard. They use cheap shit switches and are incredibly over-priced. Corsair Strafe/K70 as I suggested would be a far superior option. Cooler Master also have some nice meck kb alternatives.

You can find reviews of the K70 and Strafe over here;

You never mentioned whether you'd be overclocking, so I'm assuming you are.

Something like that. You're also going to want to get a nice cooler for the CPU. If you need/want an HDD, you can get a 240GB A-Data SP550 SSD, and an HDD as well, instead of the 500GB M.2 SSD. Spend the extra $30 for the Enthoo Pro if you want, you can also see a review of the Enthoo Pro in the thread I linked above, it's a great case. The Enthoo Pro M is also a great choice though, I built in one and it was an absolute breeze. If you want SLI support with the 980Ti, you'll need a 750W or 850W PSU, EVGA 750W GQ should be around $80, so you could get that within budget and be able to add a 2nd 980Ti in the future at any point if wanted/needed. I however, would recommend a GTX 1070 instead. The 1070 performs slightly better than a 980Ti, typically. It's also newer, supports DP1.4 as opposed to the 980Ti which only supports DP1.2. The 1070 also has more VRAM, and other better/newer features. However, it is hard to find a GTX 1070 as they're all out of stock so if you're in a rush or whatever, the 980Ti would do fine, especially at it's new price, $200 less than it cost a month ago.

Alternative motherboard choice;

Will max out 1080p and 1440p ez. GTX 980Ti/GTX 1070 are 1440p cards easily. You'll have no trouble. The 8GB VRAM helps the 1070 beat out the 980Ti a little at higher resolutions, such as 1440p, so I definitely suggest the GTX 1070 instead. Although the 980Ti is second best since it's around the same price for around the same performance and the 1070s are nowhere to be seen for some reason.
