Hi guys, I have a quick question at the risk of sounding stupid. I was scrolling through craigslist looking for computers, and i spotted these two. Now im wondering which one would be a better deal, besides the obvious price difference.

I'm assuming you're looking for a computer for gaming, so go for the second choice.

The second listing doesen't seem to mention having a dedicated Graphics card so it's probably on board graphics so you won't get very far if your going to be playing high demand games although it still looks like a decent deal and a good price for what you get.

With the first one, would the only thing i would have to do would be upgrade the graphics card? I asked a friend about that one, since it had the two monitors and shiz, and he said its a pretty good computer but the graphics card is bad. Is this true?

Yeah the graphics card is pretty outdated and you probably won't get very far, you would be able to play games that don't require much performance such as counter strike, GMOD etc but me personally wouldn't even bother buying a second hand gaming pc as you are probably going to run into problems as i have seen friends that have bought shitty pre-builts and pre owned pc's and it has ended badly. I would wait till you can afford to build your own PC and use the PC building forum here on TTG for support. You would probably looking at £130-150 for a decent graphics card which is about $180 - $210.

I don't really feel comfortable reccomending any of these as nobody really knows how well looked after these components have been kept.

I'm in the same boat - I don't recommend him going for these two choices, but he's asked and I'd go for the second choice if I was him. (if he wants a computer now)

I'm trying to purchase a computer before i can start on building one, as i am not so well trained with the tech as of right now. I'm really liking this first one because its closer to me and has more info in the description.

I couldn't even find the graphics cards name in the second one? Anyways, I'm trying to play GTA V. So lets say these two computers were sitting next to each other, both playing GTA V at max settings. Which one would have higher FPS? Also, what i was thinking was if i buy the first one i would replace the graphics card with something a bit better such as the Geforce GTX 980 or 970. Would this not be better?

Both of those are terrible. Neither of them will play GTA V, never mind at max settings. The second one is straight up lying about something because it apparently has an Intel CPU in an AMD motherboard.

Here you go;

RX 480 releases on June 29th, will max games at 1080p ez. You can add another 8GB RAM to the rig at any point if you wish. 240GB SSD for OS and a few games/applications, you'll want to add an HDD at some point for mass storage though, probably. Nice IPS monitor, and a nice budget kb/mouse combo. Nice case and PSU as well. You can upgrade to an i5 or i7 at any point if you wish. That motherboard should support Intel's next two Core i generations with a BIOS update as well, so you could upgrade to the latest i7 in 2 years or something with the same motherboard.

Building a PC is easy, it makes much more sense and saves so much hassle. Check all of the PC sections for tips and advice, and ask in the relevant section If you need any help.
