GTX 1070 and i7. Nice 1440p monitor and next keyboard. SLI support so you can add a 2nd GTX 1070 at any point if you want/need. Get the Cryorig M9i from Newegg for $20. You can OC the i7 a little with the M9i but you'll want a higher end cooler if you want to do more than a little overclocking.

Would you recommend I get the EVGA GTX 1070 ACX 3.0 or wait until the 29th and cop the RX 480 8GB at like $200 less

I would personally crossfire a pair of RX-480s. That way you still get dank performance and could even push up to 4K resolution if you wanted to. That should be above 1070 performance for the same price.

A single 1070 is better than an RX-480 though although I'm not 100% on the performance difference so Sanctorum will have to fill you in there.

1070 is roughly 980Ti performance. 480 should be roughly 390 performance. XFire 390s should slightly out-perform a single 980Ti, so XFire 480s will perform about as well as a single GTX 1070(I imagine, obviously there's no concrete evidence until we see benchmarks). The RX 480s in Xfire will cost a little less and use a little more power.

However, the 480 is a mid ranged card. The GTX 1070 is pretty high end. It's always better to go for the stronger single GPU, instead of 2 cheaper GPUs. For example, you'd buy a single GTX 980Ti, as opposed to SLI GTX 970s. Although neither of those GPUs make sense anymore, just using them as an example.

Alright, this is my current [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . I have my keyboard figured out, and I was planning on getting [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] monitor, I was just wondering if my GPU has a DisplayPort or a DVI to get the 144HZ and not just 60? Sorry I'm a noob.

Also, is [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] the graphics card you recommended? I am willing to spend the extra $30 on it considering it's out of stock nearly everywhere else. I have auto-notify on it on newegg, but I'm impatient. Thanks for all your help.

Yes, it is able to support it.

In general, non-stock variants of the same GPU usually have better cooling or are overclocked, etc.; something will be additional to make it worth not buying the reference card.
If you want it now, the extra $30 doesn't make much of a difference.

Nope, don't get that reference GTX 1070 from Best Buy. Reference cards suck.

A couple of changes;

Better cooler. If you really want to OC the i7 as much as you can, get an AIO, something like a Kraken X61. The M9i will do fine for stock clocks, and maybe a little overclock. The H7 will be good for a mild overclock. Zotac GTX 1070 is in stock right now, so I included that. The MSI Twin Frozr GTX 1070 claims to be in stock on Newegg, but when you click on it, it says sold out and that they'll ship within 4-6 days.

Just whatever you do, don't buy reference.

As for monitor, I'd go with a nice 1440p panel instead;

and I sure hope you're getting a nice mechanical keyboard like a K70 or Strafe.

GTX 1070. They're the same price but the 1070 is newer and comes with a huge die shrink, always get the newest card you can. Just grab a 1070 when one pops up in stock, not reference though.
