Eat less and drink more at people say. You need to exercise as well otherwise you're not going to see for yourself that you're gaining muscle. Have a diet route en what your intake and what your outtake is going to be for each day. You can write on this topic to see the boys can help you out in there Forums/t=7509310/physiques-bodybu...-talk.html

Let me refer members that I think personally think that can help you on this topic

Honestly, if you can't change your whole life, don't even try. I'm not trying to be a Debby-downer, but I see so many kids waste their time. I see a lot of kids who get "thin" and they think that they are in perfect shape then go back to eating Oreo's while playing COD all day and wander where their abs went. A perfect example of this is that show "biggest loser", they loose all the weight for the show and gain it right back because they don't want to change their life style.

With that being said though, it is hard to tell you what you need to do. If you don't eat a lot as it is, you will probably be over weight as your body stores the protein in the food as fat because it's trying to hold over until the next meal. If you eat a lot of salts and sugars, and fats, cut it out of your diet as best as you can. Stop drinking soda. A lot of people will dis-agree with me here, but don't drink milk. Milk is packed full of sugars and fats because it is meant for babies. It is meant to plump them up so they can grow. It is not meant for a teenager or a full grown adult to be drinking every day.

There is also a big misconception that consuming a lot of protein will get you lean. Muscle need protein to build, but if you consume more protein than you can burn off, it gets stored as fat. One thing that might help you a lot is buy one of those step counter things. Some of them will have you enter in your age, weight, and height to tell you roughly how many calories you're burning. Every time you eat something, look at the calorie count and make sure you burn it off. This is just meant for walking / jogging so it isn't going to help much in the form of say bench pressing, but it is a great start so later on you'll know eating X means you need will need to work out for Y minutes.

My last piece of advice is don't just do one thing or focus on one muscle group. Even though you want your mid-section to slim down, still focus on legs and chest. When you do a mid-section work out, you need time to recover and be ready for the next time, working other parts of the body lets recovery happen and you're working your whole body. Also stop if you still feel pain. For example, if you worked your abs 3 days ago and they are still sore, don't work them again. This causes muscle damage. Some idiots will tell you "pain is weakness leaving the body", it's not. Pain is alright during the work out, but if the pain and soreness is still there a few days later, it's your body saying it still needs time to recover, and that's fine.

You can't. You can only either gain weight or lose weight. Unless you're only starting out at the gym or you're taking synthetic hormones.

Does anyone have any tips or advice that could help me with my diet or exercises for losing fat and getting abs but also building muscle?

You have two options:

1) Gain fat and muscle.

2) Lose fat and muscle

You're either eating more calories than your body needs which will make you gain muscle and fat or you're eating less calories than your body needs which means you will lose muscle and fat.

You need to decide whether to lose weight or gain weight, this depends on your bodyfat percentage and your own goals. I'd recommend bulking for a year or two and then doing a cut and you'll have a pretty good body.

If you need help with your diet, you can PM me and I'll show you some of mine that I use or I'll help you make your own if you'd like

Some good exercises I used for losing weight and toning were skipping, running and doing boxing. In my opinion the gym is better for gaining muscle, so maybe avoid that for a bit. Diet is good option but it isn't going to help 100%, I exercise a lot and I can eat whatever I want, also thinning pills will work well to speed up your metabolism though they aren't necessary. Hope I helped and if you have any further questions feel free to PM me, how about posting your progress on TTG? would be great to motivate other members in the same boat as you. Good luck and remember to stay consistent

Are you able to get yourself a personal trainer? If I was in your shoes, that is what I would do.

Eat a lot of carbs and go on long runs. Set a time and try to beat it as this will give you a target to beat and will allow the runs to be more exciting.
