If the phone was needed so bad, why not be at the location waiting for it?

As an employee of UPS, the problem with this is that the drivers can choose to call the number or not, depending on the day for him/her. Drivers that have to run 250 stops in a day will not want to take 5 minutes out of his time where he could have been at another stop to make a phone call to see if the guy will be there or not, but a driver who maybe has 100 stops in a day may take the time to make the call.

With certains HVI's (High Value Items) they need a signature and cannot be left at the doorstep. which is why the driver kept leaving the notes. Also the thing that doesn't add up here is that after 3 days of the package not being delivered, the package is suppose to be dropped off at the UPS Store.

The UPS app can really come in handy for things like this where you want to know when you should be expecting your package because you can see between the span of 2 hours when you'll be expecting it delivered.

Tbh, it's probably more that the UPS guy cant be arsed to wait for someone/ring someone. If you can't get the door, it's not his problem in his eyes.

At least the final guy was decent about it.
