I have decided to build a gaming rig for I am tired of my console and doing all my work on a laptop. The main function I am looking for is HD gaming at a smooth 60fps+ my budget was roughly $600 for the components.
The build includes-

AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4GB GDDR5 PCiE Graphics Card

ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Cooler Master Hyper D92 - CPU Air Cooler with Dual 92mm Offset Push-Pull Fans and Accelerated Cooling System

EVGA 600B Bronze 100-B1-0600-KR Power Supply, 600W

Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10

Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5

*was looking into a SSD for my OS and bootup but I skimped to get higher quality hardware.

Terrible. AM3+ is top kek. GTX 960 is terribad. No SSD is pathetic tbh, every rig deserves at least a 120GB SSD these days, especially since they're so inexpensive.

This is far better, in every aspect;

Better CPU, better GPU, newer DDR4 RAM(will be beneficial for future upgrades), nice lil SSD for OS and a few apps/games, better PSU, and a nice case(which you never mentioned in your thread for some reason?).

OK awesome man this build looks a lot better and is cheaper as well. Will this run current games with high settings at a good frame rate?

Yeah, i3 and 380 will be perfectly fine for playing games at high settings and greater, at 1080p.

Will putting a quad core i5 make any difference? I should be able to fit that in my budget

An i5 is going to cost you an extra $85. It's definitely better, but it's not worth sacrificing GPU performance, or SSD, or anything like that, just to get an i5.

OK I like what you setup here. But I'd like to put some more cash towards the gpu. What would be the next step up from what you posted?

Your next best option after an R9 380 would be an R9 390 or a GTX 970 for $300-$320. However, the GTX 1070 releases in a month and the new AMD cards should be coming soon, you may be better off waiting for that. You could build the rig without the GPU, and run the iGPU for now but you wouldn't be able to play games very well, other than stuff like Counter Strike and Minecraft that are not demanding.

I decided after a whole day of research and did a little money management I came up with a more hard core build. Yes I know I didn't choose an Is yet on there but that will be decided later down the road. Always open for suggestions.
