The US election is coming close, and out choices are pretty much set in stone.

Either way, if you were forced to vote, who would you rather chose and why?

Donald Trump
or
Hillary Clinton

Kyro956 wrote Bernie Sanders ofcourse lmao.

While I agree, and it's sad that it won't be possible, he did say:

if you were forced to vote, who would you rather choose and why?
Donald Trump
or
Hillary Clinton

@OP: As a Bernie Sanders supporter, and this is mostly for Bernie Sanders supporters, there are two ways in which I look at this question:

The Principled Option

If it came down to Hillary Vs Trump, at this point in time, neither of those people have earned my vote. And that's what this comes down to. If you give in and vote for the lesser of two evils, whichever way that might be, you are still voting for an evil.
If the overton window is so far to the right because Clinton or Trump get elected and you voted for either of those people then you are part of the problem.
So this is the view that if you want political change, you can't vote for someone who hasn't earned your vote and you have to be vocal about the reasons why you are not voting.

The Pragmatic Option

Most Bernie Sanders supporters I have talked to all seem to agree that as horrible as Hillary Clinton is, she is better than Donald Trump on a lot of different issues. And even if she does place a Republican in the Supreme Court, her option is Merrick Garland, that would be far better than whoever Donald Trump chooses because Trump will choose Antonin Scalia Version 2.0.
So there are other factors to be taken into account over simply who is a worse person.
This view would say that, yes, you would be voting for the lesser of two evils, but at least it isn't worse.

So who would I vote for? Clinton.

She is better than Trump on many social issues, and while Trump is honest about his foreign policy plans, torture, etc. those plans are still absolutely terrifying.
We know that either way we're going to get a war mongering lunatic liar, but if I was being forced to vote, I would have to take into account social policy positions, foreign policy positions, and supreme court appointee proposals, and on all of those things, through silence or stated intentions, Hillary Clinton is better than Donald Trump.

But that is only if I was being forced, like OP said, in any other situation, I'd stick to my principles.

If I wasn't being forced, would I take time out of my day to vote for Hillary Clinton?

People voting for Sanders are people who want to see this country burn in hell.

Back on topic, the only reason I'd vote for Hillary is because Bill Clinton has the experience and they are a political couple so the experience is there. Her principals are not there though. I am voting for Trump. Sure he's an egotistical loud mouth, but that makes the government more transparent. He's a successful business owner so I think he would have a chance at getting this country out of debt, a lot better chance than Hillary anyway. Lastly (for this topic anyway), he is not (activly) trying to take away our firearms. While that will never happen, the issue is that people like Hillary will waste the time and money trying to ban firearms.
