As much as I hate to say it they do, there's no reason to be out at 3 am. Most people that I've know who have been killed in traffic accidents, they were either texting or out very early in the morning.

Keeps underage kids inside and safe, A teenage girl could easily get raped out late at night. Its a good thing, once you hit 18 you never have to worry about it again.

i knew a once, he had a court order curfew, so like if he broke it, he would end up in jail, it never stopped him leaving the house, so eventually he got youth offenders(jail for kids)

so i guess it depends on the person rather than the curfew ?

Haven't had a curfew since I was about 12. I don't exactly live in the nicest of areas and never had any trouble. So in my opinion, they don't effect anything.

where i live (native reservation) there is a curfew if your 16 or under its 10 pm on weekdays 11 pm weekends and summer break. Its a $1000 ticket if you violate it. But it dont stop anyone from breaking it.
