Hey guys,
I know this has probably been talked about here before, but I wanted to make my own topic on it since I have a picture to share. It really aggravates me when I see the same comments over and over again by the same people in different topics. It just makes me think that they don't care about the milestone at all, they just are saying something to be seen or because its easy to write 8 words and get your post number up. I know everyone will say "why does it bother you, its just a number" and it is just a number, but if it is just a number then why are people so obsessed with posting terrible comments to get that number higher?
Recently I hit some huge milestones in my life on the site and outside the site and I wanted to share it with everyone! So I made a post and talked about the different milestones, thanked some people ect. In my post I said "I would rather have no one comment on this post than have multiple users posting the same message to me on here that follow the classic lines of "Congratulations.. see you at x amount of posts" and I still got people saying exactly what I said I didn't want on my milestone. They didn't even read my post at all, they just typed out the basic message that everyone does and then they left.
I am not calling anyone out on this since more users than just them do it and that is why I blurred their names, but I just wanted to show that this always happens and I think it should change.
I also want to say that I really appreciate all the users that leave genuine messages back to the users. I know it means a lot to me and I can guarantee it means something to the other posters.
Well that is enough for my rant. Hopefully you took the time to read this and not just comment on it hehe. I would hate to have to make another post about this exact same thing!

Should Include a tl;dr but it's always going to be like that and lots of users do just spam stupid shit just like introduce yourself section but if it's pure spam, you can obviously report it.

Well, what I can say that the staff has stepped in I think as a member point of view and they've closed the topic s that have Youtube Links due to spam and other stuff so that being said the Introduce Myself has changed a lot. Which is a good point of view. Also I go there to introduce new people to this site that's why it's called "Introduce Yourself" I can see they don't want to read the rules so they just post whatever in that section. Also everyone can agree with me here it's just (easy posting)

I'm on both sides here, yes it's kind of spam as the messages are very generic, but they are still congratulating you in a sense. Of course a more meaningful message would be preferred. The introduce yourself forum is having it much worse than milestones.

The Introduce Yourself forum is aids and everyone goes there for free posts and I feel bad for the people that go in there to meet friends or introduce themselves because the majority of people that post in there don't care at all. They just post in there since its easy and mods can't really do anything about it I don't think.

I would have to disagree with this. I don't think the only reason that those forums were made was for people to get their comment number up.
