I currently have a 2GB GTX 770, i do plan to go into 1440p and possible go into 4K when i get a little more money.

Do you think it should be wise to go for a brand new MSI 970 for around £270 or be more wise to get a second hand, slightly used GTX 980 for around £300?

So, should i keep my current GPU, Go 970 or 980?

I don't really care about going second hand. My current GTX 770 is second hand and it's perfect, but just not enough for every game i play.

Thanks

Are you able to get another 770 for SLI. Two 770's handle 4K quite well so they would handle 1440p as well.

I'd just wait for the new line of NVidia cards to arrive, prices of 9xx series cards will fall a bit.

SLI 770's is a bad move IMO, had them before and regretted it for weeks after.

Was thinking about that.

But that means having to spend around £30 more on a board that supports SLI, and i have the 2gb 770, and a few games i play like Gta V, will use more than 2 gb for good settings.

So, i am kinda thinking of getting the 980 as it's only £30 or so more than the 970 i was looking at, which was the MSI GTX 970.

But not too sure what to do. 980 or 970? The 980 is on eBay and it has 28 days left, he also has 2 for sale which is nifty, but i don't have a huge budget for my upgrades. I can also buy this Tuesday, probably Monday if i am lucky.

I do play some games that don't actually support SLI configs. I also heard that the micro stutter for SLI configs can get really bad. I also don't have a particularly cool room, so having SLI will make more heat and be a pain in the back side for me.

Don't get a 980 unless you can get it cheaper than the 970 on eBay or wherever, otherwise get a 970.
