Hey, I'm currently using a canon 700D but it seems to pick up sound from people downstairs. The thing is I can barely hear anyone talking but it still picks up the sound. What can i do?

honestly if you don't have a Microphone connected to the camera than to the computer recording in the Software Audacity then there is no possible way unless you just go somewhere else thats quite or just ask them to be quite

Cameras with mics and headsets will pick up sound a lot easier, which can be a good/bad thing depending on your situation. Your situation it would be a bad thing as you want it quieter when recording. I would invest into an actual mic, such as the AT2020, AT2035, AT2050, AKG C214 or if you want to drop money on the mic AKG C414 (Normally $1500 lol.) I usedthe AT2050 for gaming and it doesn't pick up any sound from outside sources, the only sound it picks it is if my dog starts barking and that has to be inside my room or near my outer wall, but if my dog is in another room and starts barking, it won't pick up, hell even if I step like 5 feet away from my mic, it's very quite unless I shout.
