brandon74 wrote hi, i currently have Virgin Media's SuperHub2 and it is not working well with in my house so does anybody know a good router for around £40 UK

It also needs to support 2.5 and 5Ghz thanks in advanced

The less money you put into buying a router the less of the internet speed you'll get. The more money you invest buying a router the more upload speed you're going to have. Also depends where you live and what package you're going to buy with that router for your u/p & d/l speed can handle. £40 you're going to have crap internet but that's fine by me.

Go for a TP-Link Archer C5, or if you can afford the extra couple bucks go for the C7. It is currently one of the highest rated router amoungst many popular reviewers. I recommend TP-Link to everyone, as someone in the networking field I can honestly say TP-Link has the best consumer grade products around.

Let me dispel the notion that a cheap router cannot be good. TP-Link makes very affordable and very reliable products. The average $50 router can handle wifi speeds of up to 300mbps. Which is much faster than most internet service providers offer.

TP-Link Routers any good for handling gaming? I want to set up my Consoles, Laptop maybe my phone to that wi-Fi connecting. Also I'm going to search about it and see more about the TP-Link Routers. +1 There based as well in the UK or just in the EU area?

Ah yes he classic "gaming" grade argument. Gaming is usually a term slapped onto higher priced products to get people to pay more. I have had the C7 before moving to an OnHub and I can say that the C7 was a beast of a router. It handled multiple computers, laptops, phones, and consoles without a problem. Never had a single problem with the C7, the speeds were fast and never had a dropped or slow connection to any device.

That seems to be an older model but it should work just fine.

Bin the super hub. Get a NETGEAR. I don't remember the actual model but if you get one within the 50-60 price range new is a must buy and can hold 15-20 devices
