Boxty wrote Right so the thread is basically OP asking if he can build his friend a PC with the same components but save a bit of money and no one actually saves money? This is multiple hundreds less even including taxes and shippings (and slight pricing variances) and will be near identical performance.

Right here is where I helped OP get it significantly cheaper.

OP specifically requested components from MicroCenter though.

Boxty wrote P.S. CX Series to people who "like" PC's are bad, but for people who literally want something which will do the job then they are fine. They won't care about the sub par build quality, lack of good braiding or slightly worse ripple and temp performance.

Sure, maybe for an office PC or something, like I already said. Regardless, they are bad quality units. This is literally all I was saying, and that OP should avoid buying it. I'm not sure how some people find this confusing?

Boxty wrote Also you can make the argument that 750w is so much more than the system needs that it would never be taxed and not even have to break whatever sweat it could in the first place.

Sure, it's still a sub par PSU with poor build quality, and better can be had for a similar price, or even cheaper.

If he wants to save money he'll have to shop around and its really an amount that makes it worth the hassle.

No. He was going to spend on a Skylake CPU which is newer than that Haswell Refresh one, and he didn't say he needed overclocking support so that would be money wasted fool.
