As you lot may or may not know. I came here looking for an upgrade for my PC. I have that all done and dusted but i am looking for a new monitor. I have had enough of playing on my TV. It being 1080p and being over 40", you can see the pixels in the screen and became very hard to read works and play/enjoy games. An image below shows what i am on about

I kinda like this one, do you think that a 21.5" monitor is big enough to game on? Or should i get something like a 24". I don't mind the size of the monitor but i want something around the £100 mark, £120 max. Must be 1080p and if you can, built in speakers. No big deal if it doesn't, but would prefer it.

Thank you

+1 Jonesyy's suggestion. Only logical option IMO. Nice thin bezel, IPS, VESA compatible, and has built in speakers. 21.5" is more than big enough for a 1080p panel, in fact, I prefer 21.5" to 24" as the image is much nicer. 1080p at 21.5" is about 103 pixels per inch, whereas 24" 1080p is about 90 pixels per inch.

Alright, but this may seem silly but would i notice much of a difference between a 5ms and 1ms response time?

Ignore response time, it's irrelevant. It takes 16.7ms for every 60Hz panel to refresh an image. Response time is just a marketing ploy to sell shitty panels with an "uber dank 1337 1ms response time" to kids that don't know what they're looking for. For a faster panel, you'd have to get a 75, 120, 144, or 165Hz panel. You can overclock your monitor anyway, I have two of the AOC panels suggested and managed to overclock one of them to 76Hz, the other only got 61Hz though, which is pretty shitty.

Jonesyy's suggestion is hype, get that. Your next best option would be a nice IPS 1440p panel, which would set you back over £200.

As you know about my next upgrades, i have a GTX 770, do you think that can handle 1440p with good settings and frame rates on games like Gta v and other things like that?

Or do you think i should get a 1080p and then upgrade to a 1440p after i get a 970 or something like that?

Should i get this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ? I currently have a crappy 1280x1024 75Hz monitor so i don't really want to downgrade, regardless if i will notice it or not aha.
