Hi, I think I may have a virus and need help getting rid of it.. When I open up my task manager I find 5 tasks in Chinese which won't end. And there are a few programs which I cannot uninstall.

I've ran a scan with McAfee antivirus and said it dealt with 1 virus but I'm still getting stupid Chinese programs on my computer. If anyone could suggest anything I'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If nothing else works try resetting but make sure you back up all files on a memory stick or something..

I'd install AVG 2015. It's a great anti-virus program, my personal favorite. I'd also advise installing MalwareBytes. If you don't get any success, I think a reset/re-install is needed. Let this be a lesson, be careful of what you're downloading and installing. This typically happens when pirating games. I'd suggest doing a virus scan and files your download before installing or running the executable.

I've decided I'm just going to reset everything, but when I go to do this I get an error message saying:

The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File: \windows\system32\winload.exe

How could I fix this? :/

Have you got an install disc handy? I think you'll have to reset via. Disc/USB. The virus, if you'd like has deleted a file needed to reinstall. Obtain a Windows disc, wipe the drive and do a fresh install.

If you already haven't, try doing it in safe-mode. Boot into safe-mode, open task manager. Right click the processes and open the file's location. Delete them and post results.

Yes it is possible to create a bootable USB to restore from. Use Rufus Bootable USB creator. Download the Windows 10 ISO from the Microsoft website. Make the bootable USB then just restart the computer but set the USB to 1st in boot order so it will load the USB to reinstall Windows. Alternatively you could install a Linux distro instead of Windows 10 to avoid any common virus/malware problems in the future.
