The bar shows progression to your next post rank. So once you reach 50 posts it will reset and you will become a junior member.

The bar under your username is basically a forum progression system. You rankup depending on how many posts you have and the bar shows you how close you are to ranking up.
The only way to change your Username is to purchase Gold. Gold gives you the ability to change your username every month.

Once the bar is full, it proceeds to the next user level. Typically using a different colour. It is a progression bar. In order to obtain coloured usernames you must be a Gold member.
