I have a really old PC that doesn't work I wanna turn into a gaming PC, a friend had challenged me to do this with a $100 budget. It only has to run Gary's mod at 40 fps on high settings. The PC in question is a Dell insperon 530S it doesn't power on and is quite old. I'll send a picture of the internal via PM if you think you can help me. Also I am not very keen on building PC at all. Everything in PC is all factory

First find out why it won't start then once it does try to use a software tool to work out what hardware it has and post it here. Or literally disassemble it to a stage where you can identify each part.

I'm pretty sure it was the power source, I've taken it out already

100 USD? It's likely you'll need a new PSU. You can pick up a decent budget unit for about $30-$40. You may be able to add a used GPU for improved performance for about $80 or so.
