I fixed the issue with the drivers, my laptop finally works again. But, the OS installed is disgusting. It's Windows 7 Home Premium I think. Everything is so big, I don't like it. Is there anyway to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 7 for free?

If everything is big you can adjust your screen resolution. No you can't upgrade to a different service pack for free but you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free, at least I did.

It is already on the lowest screen resolution. I tried upgrading to Windows 10 for free, downloaded for like an hour, it verified the download and that was the last I heard of it.

It takes a while for it to pop up that it is fully ready for download.

If you are going to go Windows 10 then don't wait for the upgrade prompt, use [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and click upgrade now.

The lowest possible resolution does not mean it'll work the best..You have to tamper with it. However, if you cannot get windows 10 to Download, you'll have to do it manually. You can do this by going to the Microsoft Website and downloading the 'media tool' which is just a fancy ISO.exe which will run the set-up. You don't have to pay and, as long as your current Windows is activated and legal, it'll download smoothly with no problems. The bonus? It doesn't erase any of your data. I.e games, movies, music, etc. It didn't for me, at least.
