I hard find it hard to believe how music today is all about drugs, getting girls, and how you will clap some on up if there aren't in the gang you are in.

What happened to real music? I was scrolling through YouTube looking at some of my favorite songs and just thought, what if music was like this now a days? Would our generation be different.

I am talking about some of these rappers who think that they are the shit and people praise them and bump there music even though you cant understand them.

People have thought the same for every generation. If you look back, almost all popular songs in the past have been like this. That's what mainstream music is. There are good songs out there, you're just not looking for them.

Another thing. I listen to Young Thug, Drake, Future and all. Yeah their lyrics are shite but they are still catchy. Not all songs have to be a lyrical masterpiece.

Nostalgia plays a massive part in this and will cloud perception.

That's why I listen to classic country mostly. It seems a lot more genuine, and they wrote their own songs.

Edit: Most of them wrote their own songs.

I don't listen to, too much music anymore due to the fact it is just boring. When I do listen to music, I listen to EDM.

You may not like the songs as they do not relate to you. This is from WIKI: Lycris are having the form and musical quality of a song, and especially the character of a songlike outpouring of the poet's own thoughts and feelings, as distinguished from epic and dramatic poetry.
Its just a way people express themselves. Certain songs suit different people. Not everyone is the same man. I hated Justin Beiber at 1 point. But his latest album are some really good songs. Not just because of the beat. The lyrics

"music these days..." "rappers" rap isnt the only genre of music

seems to me that you only are judging rap, rap has become super popular and everyone seems to be doing it but its not the only genre of music. It honestly hasnt changed a whole lot, its just becoming more in your face and available to everyone.

If you want to find good music in or outside of rap youre going to have to not go on popular youtube videos and turn off your radio... its there youre just looking in the wrong places
