So, at my job we've got this guy. He is just a lazy SOB. Twice this week he calls off 4 hours before his shift. Thus screwing somebody else as we are understaffed right now. He is consistently late and just an underachiever overall. To make things worse he is my supervisor's brother in law. It's very irritating. Anybody else deal with shmucks like this at the work place?

That guy is probably about to get fired soon. Same thing with OPs co-worker.

There is no chance of my boss firing anyone he is far too shy

That and the fact this guy hasn't even been there long
Also looks like he summons demons on his spare time

When I call out I call out as soon as we open. It gives them like 8 hours to find someone which is fair. If im late (was only late once) I call in and let them know.

I HATE people who complain about "ohhh I never get hours" yet they **** call out every goddamn day. It really bugs me, I was supposed to have friday off this week(today) and this lady who is the usual "ohhhhh they are cutting my hours" bullshit decides she doesnt want that shift sooooo they call me in... -_- wtf, when I have a **** day off I want my day off

Get a different job

I work with a woman who is genuinely a lovely person, but she makes so many mistakes. In my line of work a simple mistake will end up snowballing further on down the line. This means that the rest of the team have to spend time checking her work and rectifying her mistakes. Whenever we approach her and try to help her she gets very defensive about it all which makes it a pointless endeavor. It has gotten to the point where we will all organize our daily routines in such a way that she is left with the least important jobs just to minimize the **** ups.

Our superiors know, and have known for a few months now, but they can't hire anyone else until other areas of the company have met their employment quotas, meaning that they can't let her go otherwise the workload would be too much for us all.

It's a really crappy position to be in, and it's even worse because she is such a nice person.
I don't know if she's just too lazy to change and put more effort into her work, or if she's just mentally incapable.

I'm glad you guys understand. Some people just shouldn't be a part of the work-force.

I've had a few co workers like that.

And when they wouldn't pull their half we would always have to pick up the slack, not to mention it was very annoying and we had to stay late a few nights.

It got to the point where if these other co workers didn't want to help than they would have to give us some money out of their paycheck for picking up there slack everyday.

When I used to work at Taco Bell there was a girl that was fired from another Taco Bell for wiping off the top of the table with a broom. The first day that she worked, I was working an eight hour shift and she worked a four hour. She had her mom come by and give her lunch in the middle of damn lunch rush. We told her that she couldn't do that and ended up calling in for the next two days making me work a double shift. She complained that she wasn't getting enough hours and ended up getting fired for being late the next day, and the best was that I had to tell her to leave. Best day at TB I had in a while.
