Ive done quite a few Gold Give aways these past few months. And every time i get the same post. If you do give aways also you will probably get the same . "Im not entering but thanks for giving back to the Community/TTG". How many of you are actually giving back? For me i dont class it as giving back. Ive only had help a few times by the same members (They know who they are). And to say thanks i gift gold to a member (s) they suggest deserves it. So the question is are you giving back or are you trying to achieve the badges.
I was just wondering.

They're all just shitposting for badges most likely. It's pretty common to see on here, now.

To be honest the majority of Gifters do it to give someone who maybe can't buy gold or can't afford it the chance to see what it's like for a month.

I personally only gift deserving members if I do a giveaway.

Doing gold giveaways = Going for a badge

Just gifting someone = Giving back

That's how I feel anyway.

I can understand why people want the badges, and tbh I'm not against it. Because whether you like it or not, they're still giving back in the long run.

I've done a few giveaways only when I have something like a code I am not gonna use.

But then doing gold give aways with more than just one is also giving back? I never do a 1 gift gold give away. And i will only gift to a member that is either nominated or post count/Number of years as a member. Yes i am going for the GG+ but, that badge only speeds up my progression toward achieving it. If it was giving back it would be around 1 gift per month subscription. Or if you was to be gifted then you would pass it on etc. That's giving back surely? . Not a random give away. (Not arguing just putting my point across)

I was talking about random giveaways, those in my opinion are solely for badges. Giveaways where only certain members meet the requirements are in better taste than those that end with a person with 10 posts winning the giveaway.

I personally just like to give to deserving members :cat:

If I was doing it for the badge, I would have stopped long before 200 gifts lol

My goal was to get the badge but I extended it those who have helped the site. People who deserved it in my eyes. I think I held one gold giveaway, most of mine came from the Christmas giveaway I was a part of this year to bless those less fortunate or wanted to see the gold forums.

I wish people wouldn't post that "I'm not entering but thanks for giving back" there is a thank button for a reason, you don need to get YOUR post count up.
