So can you play online with a silver account received from a pre modded vendor?

No, you need to add gold to it. Most suppliers throw a 2 day - a free one month. There is a way to bypass and get 1 free month on a new account.

Also depends on console. If Xbox One, If you're paying for one account already, then the pre made modded account will "Share Gold" with the main one
