I am built a pc and wondering if my pc will run most games smoothly
I7-6700k 4.0Ghz
16GB ram
Nvidia GTX 970 4gb

But consider upgrading to GTX980 as the 970 has 3.5GB .5GB RAM problem that could cripple some games.

nope, it is a 4GB card but the last .5GB is slow and generally not used, i never 100% max my 970 out.
Also, the 980 is not worth the extra money as it is a lot more but performance isn't any better.

Yes, that will run games perfectly fine.
It would be better if you tell us your budget so we can recommend the best parts for your money though.

Will i be able to run dayZ standalone 40-50 frames because i want to play that game. As a console gamer you dont get smack of pc games ported over.

It will be a bit hit and miss but yes, in general you should be able to.
DayZ is a bit funny with performance but I get roughly that with my own 970.
