don't copy what other people do
make what ever kind of videos you think other people would enjoy watching
also consistent uploading will make people want to come back to your channel to see more!

If you want to grow on youtube then consistency is a must. Provide good quality videos, be original, reach out to people in the community you are involved in. This will help you grow.

However if you want to do youtube for the fun of it then upload videos you are happy with. Upload when you can and enjoy it whilst it lasts. Trust me, it won't go on forever.

I'd say it's a lot harder than most people think, but being active, and doing something different.

So much competition that you need to be able to stand out.
