Hello, my first build was pretty much on budget. I want to upgrade and have found the best I could within my budget to upgrade my unit keeping the same CPU. Can someone give me some insight on what they think?

First Build
CPU: AMD Athlon 760k quad core @ 3.8
Ram: 4GB Single DDR3 931 MH2
Video Card: AMD Radeaon HD7700
Motherboard: ASRock Fm2A55m-VG 3+
Storage: 500 GB HDD
With an optical drive

Upgraded (with same cpu)
CPU: AMD Athlong 760k quad core @ 3.8
RAM: G.Skill RipJaws X Series 8GB DDR3-1600
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88x+ Killer ATX
Storage: 500 GB hdd and 120 Gb SSD
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Now this is all I can work with giving my budgey right now. Wondering if this is considerably better or not! Looking for some advice. Thanks for feedback

Unless I'm looking at something completely different, that motherboard price is looking awfully high for this type of build. Also how desperate are you for a SSD? You could always ditch that, get a cheaper mobo, then spend the spare cash on a higher tier GPU? Also are you reusing the PSU from your old build? How many watts is it?

Yeah Im reusing the psu and is at 500 w, and purchasing a new motherboard. What would you reccomend gpu wise, and yes I would like to keep the ssd.

I would have to know what your actual budget is. If you have the cash, you can go for a GTX 970, but only because that's what your psu can handle at 500w. Otherwise I would of recommended something like the r9 390 if you also upgraded the psu. If those prices are out of the question, I'd say the 960 is just fine then. But if you can manage to muster up the extra cash, it could make a big difference.

If you're looking to squeeze as much cash out of each part, you might not even need the cpu cooler. If you're reusing the cpu, clearly you've lived without a non stock cooler all this time. Use the $35 on the GPU and perhaps get the 212 EVO another time? (same for the SSD too, even though I know you want it).

If you have time my budget is about $600. I want to keep it under that. If you want to mess around and see what you come up with.. You don't have to but, if you would like to be my guest!

So that's $600 not including case, psu, or cpu right?
