Hello, I have an old Acer Aspire M1640 desktop that I did not use anymore and was thinking of giving it to my little cousin who could use it to play on thE internet or whatever and I found it in a corner collecting dust and after I gave it a good wipe down I turned it on, saved whatever I needed and then system restored it. After the restore it was working surprisingly fast and I downloaded chrome and added the Adblock extension. After around 5 minutes it got BSOD and said it was the Hardware so after a little research I concluded it might be a loose Hardrive cable and I opened it up and there was ALOT of dust and there also were a bunch of wired unplugged with P4, P6, P9 etc. written on them. Can anyone help me and tell me if this is normal and how I could possibly fix the desktop to not get BSOD anymore hopefully ? Thanks

I doubt very much it would have been a loose cable from the HDD, SATA data cables have clips on them, so it can't be that, and if the power was loose it wouldn't turn on.

Have you got the error code from the BSOD at all?

But damn that PC needs a clean.

Everything that is currently connected please push on the cords to make sure they are properly connected.

Also as for the dust you can buy compressed air in a can and blow it out.
