In my honest opinion a diesel in a half ton is a stupid idea. I think it is hilarious though that Dodge used the 6 cylinder Cummins for how long? and Nissan jumps right into the V8 lol.

I think with Cummins selling their engines like this, one of two things will happen. Either 'Murica fans will get butthurt and hate Dodge (after all they where bought by Fiat, now their diesel engine manufacturer sells to Nissan?), or Nissans sales will explode.

If they made a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck I'd give it a second look, but like I said, diesels have no business is a half ton truck. Most people with half tons don't even haul things, they are just daily drivers. A diesel is meant to haul and pull stuff, if you don't work a diesel you destroy it. I have a feeling that the new Titan will get a lot of bad reviews over the next few years.

nicely put. I do agree on your post there, It would of been better if they had made a standard v8 1/2 ton and then a 3/4 with the cummins.

I agree most 1/2 drivers are just daily drivers, but if the drivetrain and tag weight can withstand the beating you will see a lot of 3/4s off the road. But who knows, its a shot in the dark for Nissan. And you never know they may change the size in the next year depending on how well it performs and maybe they will put the old 5.6 in the 1/2 and make the cummins a 3/4.

You sir are wrong. After the contract ended with Dodge they signed with Nissan to put the 5.0 cummins in all the new 2016 Titans.

I been fallowing these stories since the rumors started.
