My dad has this same problem, He took his iphone to the apple store and they said it is something to do with the update so they gave him a brand new iphone that same day.
This seems pretty similar to what happened to his phone but im not sure its the same but it could be.

There is a way you can completely reset the whole phone.. But it will require you to put in the password to get back into once its done reseting.

There is a way you can completely reset the whole phone.. But it will require you to put in the password to get back into once its done reseting.

For Mac: Go to this path: /ect/hosts
For windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Copy the below line and paste it in the hosts file in the last line.
74.208.105.171 GS.APPLE.COM
After that, go into DFU mode, and attempt to restore.
If this works, you can remove what you just pasted in the hosts file.
For windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
