Nope, just tried it, and it doesn't work. I've got a USB mouse and a wired keyboard both with USB plug-ins and my laptop picks them up fine, I feel like I've got something on my phone blocking it connecting to other things, but I'm not sure what it would be..?

no not the ports. Try using another cable, phone charger. Is the one you are using able to transfer data? or is it just a usb charger

Right, I got my Transfer cable, do I download a driver thing now?

Can someone link a working one, I downloaded the one GT-R posted, but I didn't do anything/work?
