I did four years of marching band in high school and now a year of college marching band. Most people like us but then there are people like why does the band have to be so loud, distracting, and annoying. People say band is easy but it can actually be very hard depending on your level, for example my friend did Drum Corps this summer and he did sports in high school and he said that DC was way more intense than people make it to. Why can;t all bands get the same respect as athletes since we work just as hard as they do.

People that have never done band don't look at it the same way they do as sports. If you think you are equal in work (which you all are) then just ignore other people and do you, man.

I've never heard of band getting you p***y. I consider band kids to be "geeks" or "nerds", with a few exceptions.

I was/ am currently in marching band for my high school. We compete, we won a state championship. To me, it's a sport. Respect to you for doing it. It's so demanding. (Senior Euphonium)

Now, while it is where "Geeks" and "nerds" tend to reside, You meet some pretty dope ass kids. So far, i have met some of the coolest/down to earth kids ever. Great experience.

Idk about your schools band but all the band members (if not most) at my school tried to always talk to me and well everyone... Be my friend like leave me alone. I get it youre friendly but you dont have to try and be friends with everyone. I know it sounds weird like hey they are just being friendly but it was just annoying, so friendly its almost fake (probably was)

I dont wanna talk to you. Band like any other group has that click type of look to it. Like everyone in band is in on a cult or something.

To me not a big deal, I just dont like talking to people at school if they arent my friends.

I mean, I guess it just depends on the Marching band really.. I mean I didn't really "Fit in" as i wasnt very "Nerdy". However, they were very accepting and I always felt accepted. So I guess it depends.

I did band in my freshman year. We even won a state championship and placed 13th in a national competition. However, I decided that it wasn't for me and now I play basketball. Marching band is tough, but personally I believe sports are a little more physically demanding. Don't worry about other's opinions, all that matters is your opinion.
