I'm currently sitting on a 3 year old $100 chair from Staples that is falling apart, and I'm essentially sitting on plywood at this point.

I'm looking for a new chair, and I've pretty much narrowed it down to two choices. They both have good reviews, but I haven't sat in either of them, and they're both above my "impulse buy" price point, so I want to make sure it'll be a good chair before I pull the trigger.

A little bit about me... I'm a 6'4" guy with a light-average body weight.

The two chairs I'm looking at are:

1. DX Racer, probably King series due to my height
2. Herman Miller Aeron

If you guys have experience with either, or both, please let me know which one would be the better option.

Thanks!

I'm right there with ya, I'm 6'5". Took me a little bit of time to finely decide on a chair, but I ended up buying a DXRacer. Best chair out there, 100%.

EDIT: I have a Formula Series. The Kings are very nice, just didn't want to spend the extra money.

As a scrawny short dude who's sat in both of these chairs I like both around the same with a slight edge to the Aeron.

However the guy who owned these chairs is 6'3 and a fairly big chap and he found the Aeron kind of small and uncomfortable but doesn't have the issue with the DX chair.

He also finds the DX More comfortable however I think that'd be personal preference. If you think you might have issues sitting in the Aeron like he did I'd go for the DX.

How does the formula fit? I've heard a lot of people say that they're too small for bigger guys like us.

KS-57 NB is the model I had before children happened and everything gets destroyed. The only con i have to say about it as it didn't have the lower back support that I wanted but that's what a pillow is for. Depends how you sit you might actually crest over the top of the chair however I didn't have any major complaints. Lasted me well over a year (rip 2k14) without any problems.

Honestly, if you are willing to spend the extra money, go for a Kings Series.

The Formula is only good if you're pretty thin. I've had it for a while now, and since I have lost a little weight there is a difference.

If I had known that ahead of time, I probably would have just gotten a King Series.

I dunno if they have Ikea in the States but I use this.
I have had many chairs in the past and this is without a doubt the best I have owned.
