I'll be using the computer as a gaming computer and I'll be attempting to play DayZ SA - World at War - Arma games and games a like. which of these should I most likely choose.

Hmm alright thanks for your input . I'm still not sure I just don't want to have to update sooner depending on which I get.

I would say the first build, but if your going to want 8 gigs of ram make it one stick not two<Future upgrade to 16

Tbh, neither.

1st one has an older CPU with no/little upgrade paths, no mass storage, 750ti is meh, case is poo, PSU is meh.

2nd one has 16gb which is useless for gaming and you have a small budget to work with, again case is meh, PSU is meh.

If you could give a budget, I'd be glad to build one for you.

I believe it needs quite a powerful GPU and CPU to run smoothly (personal experience). Dont know if it is more CPU dependent though. I'd have to see. The minimum specs require fairly old components. A decent CPU will run it.

I could still build him one with a good CPU and GPU (or APU) within his budget.

DayZ is un-optimized and rather CPU intensive, but people out there with X99 and 980Ti's can struggle to run it and people with lower end PC's can run it ok. It's rather weird how it can run on different systems...
