I'm looking into making a PC specially designed for Dota 2 - other than that the only requirements would be windows 7 with a budget of around £400. Any suggestions?

Tad over budget but will do you super well.
Other option would have an x4 860k which don't get me wrong is a great chip but this has more upgrade options. LGA1150 will let you go to something like a 4690k or an i7 or a Xeon.
750ti will do fine with dota maxxed.
