You will only need and use 16GB if you do heavy editing/multitasking.

And don't get the 390x, not worth it over the 390.

What do you use your PC for?

I got 16GB currently and never seen the usage go above 30% unless rendering in Adobe Media Encoder, then it goes to like 95%

Also ditto to what Skattle, get the 390 non (X)

Depends what you use your comp for, just think for what you do if you actually need it.

I don't recommend it but it's not my choice.

If you need it, get it. Same as if you can afford it, get it.

Id never thought that Id whack 16GB of Ram in my rig but surprising enough, I go over 8GB a fair bit. Like, when I have a crap tone of tabs open, heavy multi-tasking or just playing GTA v where it uses 10gb on its own.

The performance difference between the 390 and the 390x isn't worth the cost at all. I have a 390 and I can max out GTA V at 1080p completely with no problem. At 1440p and 4k you would still be able to play games at good settings with good fps with the 390.
