Anyone ever thought that there are 3 million other individuals just like yourself who are all downloading/ playing the beta currently? Their bandwidth on their servers is through the roof at the moment and they're experiencing server wide connectivity issues because they're overloaded. It'll calm down after a week or two however don't expect blazing connections to them for a while.
