So currently I own a mac, but recently I have taken an interest in PC gaming, and I hear everyone saying about how I would be much better building my own pc, would I get a decent gaming PC for £350 (building it myself) and if so what parts would I need?

£350 probably not. Just saw a link for one at £400 though. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] that what be a decent pc for Medium-High settings mate.

The real sweet spot price range for buying a computer and building it is around £800ish. Save up and you can get an epic system.

How is it a terrible rig ? Maybe change the 960 but that build will do him fine for what he was budgeting. It'll play games at medium to high no problem.

Say try and go for around 400, Even if you can get +50 more it will make a difference in the gaming experience, Spend a little more on gpu and cpu buddy:)

It's already £60 over OP's budget, and it doesn't even include the cost of the mobo and PSU. It's going to be over £500, and for that price, it's a poor rig. The 960 is a terrible card. It offers slightly better than GTX 950 performance for £30 more. R9 280, 280x, 285, or 380 would be a much wiser choice. AM3+ is a dead socket, no reason to go with it anymore, especially when you can get an 860k, which will out-perform the FX-6300 in gaming for less, or an i3 rig for the same price. RAM is very over-priced, almost twice as much as it should cost.
