Well if you think its actually possible. Some disease has been developed into something more dangerous and harmful to humans.
For example rabies. There can be a more advanced version of rabies that develop into a zombie like form.
The incubation period
The incubation period is the time it takes for symptoms to develop after a person is infected with the virus. The incubation period for rabies is usually two to 12 weeks, although it can be as short as four days. It is unusual for the incubation period to last for more than a year.
The closer the site of infection is to your brain, the shorter the incubation period. For example, a bite to your face, head or neck will have a shorter incubation period than a bite to your arm or leg.
The length of the incubation period is important as it's the only period in which treatment can be successful.
It can be infected by a bite. And how do zombies infect? They bite you.
Not only does it infect you by a bite but the effects of having rabies also makes you have aggressive behavior, hallucinations, agitation and producing lots of saliva.
Which therefore zombie's can become a real thing!!!
So therefore in my opinion zombies can happen.

There are currently drugs that will put people in a zombie like state yes. Open wounds can become infected, especially hose caused by a bite. Do I think that infections like that will make a zombie apocalypse happen? No. Also simple science proves that what they show in movies is impossible. You can't like while your arm is cut off and you are bleeding out. You would die very quickly.
From the little bit I have watched about zombie movies I think we would be relatively safe. It seems like they don't simple turn the door knob to open a door, they try and push through it. How the hell are they going to get out of their bedroom?

If, IF.. It were to happen it'd be squashed quickly unless it is airborne. You know how many Americans and Canadians own guns. Unless you're in some restrictive state or province I'm sure you can throw a rock and hit a gun owner.

If zombies ever did happen, it would be NOTHING like you would see in the movies. The body is dead so therefore the zombies would eventually not be able to move at all. They would not be able to repair the muscles they would tear running/walking/biting/etc.. so basically they would eventually tear themselves down. So yeah, the apocalypse would be pretty short lived.

I wouldn't see any reason why in theory it couldn't. On that note if one were to happen Id move my ass to Alaska. try not to freeze ya meat bags.
