Your friend is giving you a great deal for the pc he is selling. If you were to buy it off of him you would be saving at least £200 if i"m not mistaken. If i were you i would go for it.

I'd tell them to raise the price, it's an extremely good build for that price, you'd be able to sell it for 1000 euro depending on condition.

_Skittle wrote Yes, that is a great deal! The CPU alone is over half of the complete cost!

It's cheap, but that doesn't mean it's worth it. Almost entry level GPU with a shit quality PSU.

For your budget, you could get this;

It will perform similarly, but it's all new, good quality parts.

That's a very good deal, the processor alone makes up just about half the machines cost. Not to mention that 16gb of 2400MHz ram. 2400MHz DDR3 is more expensive (typically between 30-50$ more) than the same RAM operating at 1600MHz.

Edit: I see in the pictures that there's also a watercooler. Makes it all the more worth it should you decide to upgrade that processor at any point to a unlocked one for overclocking.

Don't bother posting if you don't know what you're talking about. It's actually only $10-$15 more expensive for faster RAM, but it's completely unnecessary anyway, makes no difference whatsoever. The H100 is only a £40 cooler now. The 4790 is not even close to half the price of the entire rig, and even if it was, that makes no difference, it's still got a shit quality PSU and an almost entry level GPU. The 4790 is locked anyway, he'd be just as well off with a Xeon, which would cost £175, significantly less than half of the entire system.

So he wants to buy it and you tell him to tell his friend to put up the price...

@Sanctorum,

FYI, the 4790 does cost half the value of the machine. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If he's looking for a fixed price system and prefers not to build his own, the quality of the power supply isn't going to be the first thing he's looking at. If it works, it works. I do agree about the GPU however. But just because of the GPU I wouldn't justify building a whole new rig.

Edit: 2400mhz ram has been proven to provide a decent performance increase on haswell chips. There are numerous articles on the matter, here's an example: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
