It's not great.

What will the system be usedfor? Just gaming? What games?
Will you be overclocking?

get windows for free
will run any game max at 1440P so grab a 1440P panel ASAP or even 4k, you decide what you would prefer as it will run 4K at solid FPS.

Tad over budget with decent cooler and SLI support so you can easily add a second 980Ti. Get at least, a 1440p panel.

Spend the extra $30/$40 on the EVGA 850G2 unit if you wish. Get your OS from [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] if you must pay for it, but I'd just get it for free.

Why don't you use a 6600k? With a budget like this it's obtainable.

2 SSD's, better CPU cooler

IMO that's pretty 'meh' for $1500

Your build is "meh". The H100i is not a great cooler, the SSDs are meh and would be better to invest in a Samsung or Crucial SSD. Skylake is over-priced and the i5 4690k is still a great CPU. You need DDR4, not DDR3, on the new motherboards. He also needs a KB and Mouse which you left out.

6600k is only worth it if you have coin to waste, otherwise there's no reason not to stick with LGA1150 and save some $$. You've suggested two poor SSD's. The PSU you suggested is pretty poor quality. Also, OP needs peripherals within budget.

Didn't notice he needed peripherals. Drop the SSDs and get a better one. Get the Cooler Master package. lol

vDubbzy; sorry I keep forgetting to change that on all the builds I use on LGA1151 (My Fault)
