Actually it says it right on their sale page.

"Please note: Some multiplayer servers and game-modes might require you to own other games - such as Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2."

There are workshop packages for gmod that contain these textures that you can download instead

I don't know one person Steam who does not have it. It's a must have game tbh.

Just download it and add it to the files :/

If you haven't bought it I just realized I have an extra copy, that has been in my inventory for at least two years. If you pm me your steam name ill give it to you. And if you have bought it then anyone who sees this can pm me their name and ill send it to you.

Despite some problems with textures it is a game definitely worth getting.
