Hey guys, I just wanted to make a quick little guide on how to restore your headlights. They all will get cloudy because your headlights are a hard plastic that is constantly exposed to all the elements. This can make your lights really dull and visibility low.

I know we have all seen the commercials selling you a kit to restore your headlights, but they want 20, 30 and sometimes 40+ dollars. They say that these kits can clean up to like 5 sets of headlights. Big whoop.

All you need is a bottle of scratch out and you could clean 50 sets of headlights. This stuff is only 5 bucks a bottle and is multi purpose. If you have a scratch in your car you can get it out with this.

Here is when I did my grandmas car, the left side has not been touched, and the right side I started. In this picture I just didn't wipe the excess off, that is why it still looks a little dirty.

Here is my moms van, now the headlights are the shiniest thing on it lol.

Tools needed for the job:
1. A bottle of scratch out
2. A rag or paper towel

Step one: Clean your headlights so there are no bugs or dirt on them.

Step two: Shake your bottle of scratch out for a little bit, maybe 30 seconds.

Step three: apply some scratch out to your rag. I usually do like a pencil eraser sized blob to start with. With my uncles truck I did a whole lot because they where really bad. There really is no such thing as too much as you just wipe the excess off but you just need enough to cover the lens. You should be able to judge how much you need.

Step four: Start wiping the scratch out all over your headlights applying some pressure. You don't need to try and bust them out, just a little pressure helps. I like to do little circles like I am waxing my headlights but I also tried just rubbing it on doing straight lines and it works too.

Step five: Even if it looks like there is none on there wipe all the scratch out off.

Step six (optional): Re-apply more scratch out so you are sure you didn't miss any spots and / or to get it clearer.

This will also clear up tail lights, corner lights, and any light on your car with a plastic lens that is foggy. I have not used this on glass lenses, but I would imagine it's the same deal if those get foggy.
