So I am taking driving lessons at a driving school and last Saturday was my first class. During class, he asked us the following: If I gave you a million dollars, what car would you buy?
so he asked it to everyone and not on paper, we had to speak out loud, he asked the whole class. When he got to me, I started speaking but with difficulty as I am shy. Then he told me, You aren't sociable or you aren't very sociable are you? the whole class kinda chuckled and so did I but I wasn't sure if I should have been offended or what...
What do you think?

I used to be the same really, thinking about things after they happened and i kept on thinking "Why did he/they say that? Oh they think i am.."
Now i do not give a f*** about what others say to me.

For me personally, I would not care about what the teacher says. The point of being in that class would be for you to pass the written test and later pass the driving test to get your license. Don't care about what your teacher says.

He offended you.
I would go talk to someone higher then him about it. To me its very unprofessional and he should never engage in a conversation with you if you didn't know what to say. He could of caught you off guard. Then he makes a little joke about it in front of the class.
But next time if he asks just tell him a "hot pink Prius just like the car you have".
That will get laughs. But really all and all, he probably doesn't get too many laughs at his jokes anyway. Who cares what he says.

I used to be shy like that in school, and I had a teacher that I guess thought he was a drill sergent or what ever. He asked a similar question to what your teacher did and I spoke up and said "No, I just have difficulties answering ridiculous questions".
He could have been trying to crack a joke, but to do that to shy kid is wrong. We don't like to be the center of attention and now you make a joke out of me in front of the whole class? I usually have the unpopular opinion, so take from it what you will.
