Is the only way to get keys buying them? Ive just bought this game yesterday

Yes, you can buy them from the steam market. But think about buying skins instead of cases, more than likely you will regret buying cases

You can buy them directly in the game for £1.69.

A lot of people bulk sell them for pretty cheap, looking more at about the £1.30 price for them.

You can also buy them from the marketplace but they are generally more expensive than the standard game rate.

Other than that, you can trade with other players for them.

They can be obtained from the CS:GO Store for £1.69, $2.49 or 2.29 EUR (depending where you're from)

You can buy them on the market but as said above, they are usually more expensive to catch out people who are new to the game.

Keys are mainly used for trading for skins, you cannot trade money for skins so people use keys instead.
