I've made more money from opening crates than I have trading out my items.

Crates are all about the luck, that's the trouble. If you don't have the money to potentially waste, don't get crates.


OP: You should look into buying some of the cheaper but wanted skins such as asiimov, lightning strike, cyrex, etc. and waiting until the game economy rises back up a bit.

AWP asiimovs are particularly cheap atm because of various factors. It would be worth buying a few, holding on to them and then trading them out at a later date.

you can get keys as cheap as $1.50 on other forums

For most cases you need a key to open them, special packages such as the Cobblestone Package does not require a key to open.

Most cases have their own unique key, Chroma Keys open Chroma Cases, Chroma 2 Keys open Chroma 2 Cases, Breakout Keys open Breakout Cases etc.

Some cases can use the same key as others, the eSports Key can be used to open eSports 2013, eSports 2013 Winter and eSports 2014 Summer Cases. The CSGO Case Key can be used to open Operation Bravo, CSGO Weapon Case, CSGO Weapon Case 2 and CSGO Weapon Case 3.
