Less likely, that was one of the things that could happen, but more complications could occur that were out of your control if it was bungee jumping. For example in bungee jumping you might not be secured to the cord properly, the cord might be too long or the cord might curl around your neck and hang you on a rebound!!

But to be honest, i would not do either of these :p . I wouldn't want to do bungee for the reasons above and I wouldn't want to rely on a backpack to open without problems and save me with the pull of a string.

Never in my life. My fear of something going wrong and me going splat would never let me do either of those.
