I have nothing against people being vegetarian but it really does bother me when vegetarians specifically feel the need to sit on their pedestal around us 'lower-class' meat-eaters. About 70% of vegetarians that I've met too feel the make it known to everyone that they are vegetarian and are more humane. It just pisses me off so much.

It's so odd, they say that eating meat is a luxury and not a necessity... Yet humans have eaten meat since the beginning of our existence. I couldn't miss out on a bacon sandwich on a Saturday morning to nurse my head now could I?

Bizarre.

I would never stop eating meat. But i get what you mean by them looking down on you for eating. Personally i see nothing wrong with eating meat.

Well most people who are vegetarian are doing it to make a statement.
The whole point of a statement is that it's heard, so of course they're going to bring it up.

The 'more humane' area is a bit more complicated.
They aren't funding an industry which causes suffering. [Or they are funding one fewer industries which cause suffering than most people.]
In that regard they are more humane than meat eaters - but only in that regard and not overall.

Knowing where a piece of meat has come from should make a meat eater feel remorseful and make them want to change the practices by which their meat is harvested.
The earliest form of religion was Animism because hunter gatherers honoured the animals which gave them meat.
How many people do you see sat in McDonalds feeling guilty about eating something which spent most of its life suffering?

So am I going to feel bad for a meat eater gleefully enjoying their happy meal when a vegetarian is looking down on them? No.

Let them sit on their high horse. You need protein in your daily life and you can't get all the protein needed for a healthy life without some form of meat. They can eat whatever they want, but meat is and always will be needed to carry on life.
