So let me begin by saying I have post a few topics about the same thing (But all for different purposes)

So I got a PC for Xmas, I said to my dad "I want a gaming PC" I tried to convince him to buy part so i could build it, i tried to convince him to buy one of various websites. But his excuse was "I don't want something or things to come and they don't work and Christmas is ruined a little"
At this point I decided Fair enough what ever, so he decides to go to the mighty PC World land of overpriced shitty PC's, and he buys a PC for around £800 (GBP) This came with a good i7 4960 but a pure toilet GT 720 GPU. So I'm like what ever it's a solid PC and i have my xbox one. But now that I don't like the Xbone and much prefer PC gaming, I have sold it. But, my mum took £70 of me *was happy as f*ck about that

So the plan was to upgrade my GPU to play More game etc (currently playing CS:GO). So I had planned to get a new PSU, case and GPU of course. Seemed simple enough once I got my head around it, but no i have found out my motherboard may cause my GPU to bottleneck or something. And I'm not even sure of it because it seems my motherboard is non existent. So barely know how to put the parts I thought needed together now i will have to buy a new motherboard, figure out how to take everything apart from my current PC then, figure out how to put it all back on to the new motherboard!

As if there wasn't enough f*ckery for me to worry about.

So now I have no idea what to do, an idea is to buy a new mouse and the rainbow razer keyboard, play CS:GO and pray for a miracle next xmas.

Feel free to express your thoughts lmao

Edit: I don't want to say much or go into detail about this to my dad because first he has little to none technical knowledge, and I don't want to seem ungrateful.

You probably should of explained to your dad in a little more detail, you could build a solid PC for half the price and have less of problems that your having now. You are just going to have to replace all the necessary parts. Or the next best thing to do is flog it on ebay or something and then use the money from the potato PC to build you a good one.

Pictures would help.
Also,
download CPU Z and run it. This will tell you what Mobo you have.

The PSU will tell you your voltage.
If its around 500 watts it will be fine for a GPU upgrade.

I'll download that now, but the PSU i have now is 240W lol and my case isn't big enough for most GPU's
also I've search to see what motherboard i have to see what it's capable of [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
but i can't find it anywhere ._.

Can't exactly do that, I didn't mention it's sort of a family computer but no is uses it/isn't allowed to unless they just have to print something or book flights so im on it 99% of the time.

Seems like its one of them "gaming" pc's which is in an office case and whatnot.

Your going to need:
New case
New PSU
New GPU [Durr]

The motherboard should have a PCI-E slot.

Whats your budget for all of this?

Yes the motherboard has a pcie so any gpu will work.

The 280x is on sale for less than the 960 and out performs it by quite a bit.

PCI-E is an expansion slot on your motherboard. You can plug in additional hardware to get better functionality such as a GPU, an ethernet card, a sound card, etc.
